A dog owner is offering a reward to anyone who finds his missing springer spaniel.

Angus went missing in the Glen Nevis area on Saturday, and now owner Andy Curran believes he may have been stolen.

The dog went missing at Lower Falls on the route towards Steall, but extensive searches have found no trace of him.

His owners believe he came out the water and rested by the croft just before Lower Falls car park.

A reward of £1,500 is being offered by Angus’ owners which is being topped up by private donations from those hoping for his safe return.

Mr Curran said: “It has been a phenomenal amount of support with the people that have come out.

“People have come from Glasgow, and one of the guys I was in the army with actually travelled four-and-a-half hours from the Borders to get here.

“He came up with his drones, his thermal cameras and his dog that has been trained for scent tracking, and he had a friend from Inverness come down with a drone as well.

“We had two drones up on Wednesday morning all day and there were about 20 people plus out for the whole duration of Wednesday.

“Everyone really has come together.

“We think he was taken away from the car park, and potentially without malice. Someone might have seen him and picked him up thinking he was a stray dog who had been dumped off.”

The springer spaniel had been in Fort William staying with the parents of Mr Curran’s partner Jordan Reynuad.

Search efforts are continuing, however, Mr Curran and his partner are having to depart back to south Wales due to work commitments, leaving without Angus.

Mr Curran has said this past week has been a wave of emotion for the couple adding that he did not have the words to thank all who have assisted.

“There are so many people volunteering and they are still out searching and plan to over the weekend,” he said.

“When I put it out there, I really did not expect to have the turnaround of people that we have. The number of people who showed up on Wednesday was incredible.

“We never imagined anything like this could have happened.

“It is disappointing. Seven days without knowing where my dog is – it’s quite hard.

“We just want him back with us.

“Even if someone has picked him up thinking they have got themselves a new pet, even if they have done that, we don’t care.

“We just want Angus back. At the end of the day, he has become part of our family.”
