A woman has been over-run with cuteness as 11 tiny kittens have taken to staring in her living room window upsetting her dogs.

The gorgeous little balls of fur are feral and are trying to invade the home of Janette Reid at Taynuilt, near Oban.

They have taken to sleeping in an old beanbag in her porch. But her two Jack Russell dogs are most unhappy and the barking is becoming unbearable, if not for the kittens, then certainly for Ms Reid.

She said: “I was going to put the bean bag out to the dump, but then one day I saw them all huddled together on it. They go in there before or after they are fed.”

Now she wants to find them safe homes before winter arrives.

Ms Reid contacted an animal charity which told her she has three options. Find them homes, take them in herself, or have them put down.

Ms Reid, 65, said: “I could never take them in, but I could never have them put down.”

It all started about a year ago when a black and white cat started hanging about her house looking hungry.

She said: “So I fed it because I didn’t want to see the wee thing starving.

“It just gradually grew from there. There are now three cats and 11 kittens.

“The kittens jump up on my living room window and stare the dogs out. They are like little owls, just staring with their big eyes. It is very funny, I think they do it just to annoy the dogs.

“The dogs just go mental. They bark and bark, I think they think the kittens are coming to steal their food. The kittens and the dogs are nose to nose through the window.”

She continued: “People ask me why don’t I stop feeding them, but there is no way I could stop feeding them. I don’t think they would survive if they weren’t fed.”

Now Ms Reid, who lives at Bridge of Awe, Taynuilt, is hoping people will take the kittens in. She asks anyone who could do this to call her on 01866 822 402.
