Fire crews are battling a six-mile wall of flame near Grantown as a wildfire rages on.
Firefighters worked through the night to contain a wildfire, eight miles north of Grantown-on-Spey.
The fire broke out on the A939 near Dava shortly before 6pm on Saturday.
The fire has engulfed up to six miles of woodland.
Three fire appliances were confirmed to be on the scene on the Dava Moors on Monday morning.
In a statement issued on Monday afternoon, a fire spokesperson said: “Three fire appliances remain in attendance on the A939 near Dava, Grantown-on-Spey, where firefighters are currently tackling a wildfire measuring approximately five to six miles.
“Operations Control initially mobilised four fire appliances to the scene after the alarm was raised at 5.50pm on Saturday, 28 June.
“As a precaution, the public is asked to avoid the area, and those who live nearby are advised to close windows and doors due to the smoke in the vicinity.”
It is understood that crews remain on the scene as of 8pm on Monday evening.
Nearby, firefighters are also tackling a blaze on the B9007 near Carrbridge.
Road closed due to poor visibility
Police have closed several roads in the area due to poor visibility.
The A939 is closed from Grantown-on-Spey to Ferness and the A940 is closed at Dava.
The B9102 is also closed from Grantown-on-Spey to Upper Knockando and Dallas.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is in attendance and the public is advised to avoid the area, including footpaths.
Road users are asked not to ignore road closed signs.
Nearby residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to the smoke.
