Roadworks to take place at Dalmally

Work is scheduled to take place on a stretch of road heading into an Argyll village next week.

The 0.93 mile section of the A85 Oban to Perth road west of Dalmally is to be resurfaced in a £300,000 investment by Transport Scotland.

The work between Dalmally village and the Dalmally Golf Club is scheduled to start on Monday September 14 and last until Friday September 25.

The improvements will be carried out between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday with no works planned during the weekend.

Due to the restricted width of the road on this section of the A85, a 10mph convoy system will be in operation whilst work is carried out to ensure the safety of the road workers and road users.

Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum, although a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running on a temporary surface.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s operating company representative for the north west, said: “These essential works will improve the existing road surface, benefiting road users for years to come.

“Some disruption will be experienced as a result of these improvements, however the safety of our workforce as well as the travelling public is paramount. All possible efforts to reduce the disruption as much as possible will be taken.”
