Police searching for a missing man in the Highland have found a body.
As part of the ongoing search effort for missing man Jason Gates, police officers discovered a man’s body in the Drumnadrochit area this afternoon.
Formal identification has not yet taken place but Mr Gates’ family have been informed.
Mr Gates was reported missing on March 17 and a major search operation has been ongoing since.
Concern was raised about Mr Gates after his beloved spaniel Max was caught after killing sheep on farmland near Drumnadrochit while running loose.
The accountant’s Audi was also found parked in the centre of Drumnadrochit after concern was raised for his welfare.
On March 26 personnel from Kintail Mountain Rescue, search dogs and police recovered a number of items, including a yellow North Face jacket and a pair of black trousers which are believed to belong to Mr Gates.
Police had also previously released a CCTV image of Mr Gates in Inverness on March 14, days before he was reported missing, wearing a yellow jacket similar to the one recovered.
