Police have appealed for witnesses following the incident
Police have appealed for witnesses following the incident

A man has been reported following a three vehicle crash on the A9 earlier this week.

The 47-year-old has been reported to the procurator fiscal following the incident north of Drumochter on Wednesday afternoon.

Police issued an appeal to anyone who witnesses the collision to contact them.

Nobody was injured in the incident, which left a small lorry on its side.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses to a collision which occurred on the A9 yesterday (Wednesday).

“Just before 3pm a lorry, a Volkswagen Passat and a black BMW collided half a mile north of Drumochter.

“Occupants of the vehicles were taken to Raigmore hospital in Inverness for assessment but no-one was seriously injured.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact police on 101.”

The collision happened on a single carriageway section of the Inverness to Perth road, about five miles south of Dalwhinnie and just north of the start of the dual carriageway section at Drumochter Pass.

The road was closed for several hours as emergency services worked at the scene.

Fierefighters from Inverness, Grantown, Newtonmore and Kingussie all attended at the scene, with one person cut free from their vehicle.

Meanwhile, the A9 was closed yesterday afternoon, near Tain, following another three vehicle collision.

The accident happened just before 3pm just to the south of the Easter Ross town.

A woman suffered suspected neck injuries in the accident.

Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The incident involved a campervan, a silver 4×4 and a Nissan Micra.

The road was initially closed with diversions in place following the collision but was opened again in one direction soon afterwards.

The road fully reopened after all of the vehicles involved had been recovered.
