A north lifeboat was launched this afternoon to assist two people on board a yacht which had ground to a halt after its engine failed.
Tobermory lifeboat was called out to aid the stricken pair about three miles off Calve Island at about 2.15pm.
A Stornoway Coastguard spokesman said the alarm was raised by a man on board the 39ft Cherry Ripe yacht.
The spokesman added that the vessel was towed back to Tobermory harbour and that no one was hurt.
