Police have hosted a road safety event in Thurso aimed at driving out anti-social motoring.
The force said there is a “prevalent issue” in the Caithness town with motorists driving in an anti-social, careless or dangerous manner, as well as those who cause excessive noise.
Officers gave a demonstration on stopping distances from 30mph and checked over local drivers vehicles for defects.
A number of minor issues were found, while police also tested exhausts for noise level.
Some of the cars were found to have exhausts exceeding the legal limit and advice was given to have those replaced.
The event was held in the grounds of Thurso High School, hosted by community police and road officers.
The event was part of the police initiative Operation Route aimed at tackling bad driving.
Police are hoping to raise awareness of the issue and to encourage all road users to respect and have consideration for all other road users and the community as a whole.
