Intricate scale models of lorries and machinery from all over the Highlands will be on show later this month and all for a great cause.
Black Isle Show President Andrew Cameron and his wife Claire, a Marie Curie cancer nurse, are hosting a Winter Scale Model Show, Food and Craft Fair in aid of Marie Curie.
This is the second year of the event and the pressure is on for another successful show after an impressive £5,000 was raised last year.
The event will take place from 10am – 4pm on Saturday October 22 in the Black Isle Show Grounds, Muir of Ord.
Inverness Remote Control Car Club will have three big tracks set up for members of the public to come along and take part in races.
There will be a vast range of scale model displays. Remote control planes will also be in action along with a variety of food and craft stalls with everything from cakes to tartan handbags including entertainment and kids’ activities.
Mrs Cameron said: “Andrew and myself were overwhelmed with people’s generosity at the event last year and couldn’t believe we raised £5000 for Marie Curie.
“I understand the importance of making sure people and their families are aware of the Marie Curie nursing service in the Highlands and the impact the nurses can have on a family at a very difficult and emotional time. Please come along and support this event to help raise funds for this hugely deserving charity.”
She added: “We are really excited about the event but a little bit nervous – there is a little bit of pressure after raising so much last year.
“It really has grown arms and legs because of the success last year, we have had more people wanting to be involved.”
Entry is free but all donations are welcome on the day to Marie Curie Highland.
Marie Curie offers care and support through terminal illness. For access to a Marie Curie Nurse, patients should please speak to their district nurse or GP in the first instance.
