Police have stepped up searches for a missing Inverness teenager by handing out posters and leaflets in the area where he was last seen.
Adam Mitchell was last seen more than a week ago walking in the Longman Road area of his home city.
The 18-year-old has not been seen or heard from since and concern for his welfare was last night continuing to grow.
Yesterday police activity focused around the Longman and Harbour Road industrial estate area where Mr Mitchell was last seen in the early hours of Thursday, November 10.
He was captured on a CCTV camera walking near the Harry Fairbairn BMW garage on Longman Road just before 1am.
He had previously been at a pub on Baron Taylor Street in the city centre at about 9pm the previous night, the last known time that anyone spoke to him.
Yesterday police carried out search activity around the industrial estate.
They also handed out leaflets and posters with Mr Mitchell’s photograph and information about the case.
Police also urged business owners to check their units and outbuildings in case Mr Mitchell has taken shelter in the area.
A police spokeswoman said: “Officers hope to raise awareness of search activity and reach out to anyone who may have seen Adam or has information on his movements.
“Business owners are asked to check all outbuildings in case Adam has taken shelter.
“In addition to the leaflet drop, foot searches continue around the Longman/Stadium Road area today.
“Anyone with information is urged to contact Police on 101.”
Mr Mitchell lives in the Culduthel area of Inverness.
Police said it was “out of character” for him to go so long without contact with his family or friends.
Mr Mitchell is around 5ft 11in and of heavy build with long brown hair and a beard.
When he was last seen he was wearing a black leather jacket, a denim vest, black jeans and boots.
