A cocaine dealer who admitted being concerned in the supply of the drug from his Oban flat was jailed for two years and eight months yesterday.
James Richell, appeared from custody at Oban Sheriff Court yesterday.
The 31-year-old’s address was given as Low Moss Prison.
He pleaded guilty to dealing the drug from 22 C Shuna Terrace in Oban and elsewhere between July 21 and October 21.
Fiscal Eoin McGinty said: “Police received intelligence and as a result of which a warrant was executed on October 21.
“The door to the flat was not secure allowing police to walk straight in.”
The house was searched and £1,260 in cash was found on top of a kitchen cupboard. There was a bag containing multiple bags of cocaine sitting on top of a set of digital scales.
A notebook containing several pages of tick lists was also discovered.
The bag contained 161g deals worth a total of £600. There were also three quarter ounce bags worth around £240 each and a bag with 2.4g valued at around £100, the Fiscal said.
Solicitor Liam Robertson said: “He was in full time employment as a painter and decorator. It is regrettable that he became involved in drug addiction, debt and thereafter drug supply. He accepts he was a vital cog in the wheel.”
Sheriff Ruth Anderson sentenced him to 32 months, backdated to October 24.
