Emergency services were called to Tain this afternoon following a three-vehicle crash.
The A9 Inverness-Thurso road was closed near to the Glenmorangie Distillery in Tain.
Police said that the collision happened at about 4pm but had no further details in relation to injuries.
A fire service spokeswoman said that three appliances were initially sent but only one from Tain attended and made the scene safe.
The spokeswoman added that all occupants were out of the vehicles by the time they arrived.
The road re-opened just before 6pm.
