A9 closed after lorry and car collide

This is the scene on the A9

A section of a busy Highland road has been closed following a crash involving a lorry and two cars.

The accident happened on the A9 Inverness-Perth road, close to Moor of Alvie, shortly before 3.20pm.

A fire service spokesman said that firefighters helped assist paramedics with one casualty at the scene – but details of their injuries are unknown.

The spokesman added that four appliances – one each from Carrbridge, Aviemore, Kingussie and Grantown – attended the scene.

Traffic Scotland tweeted that the A9 was closed between Kincraig and Aviemore due to the collision.

A diversion is in place via the B9152 Granish-Lynchat road.
