Firefighters are battling to contain two large wildfires in the Highlands.
A five-mile wall of flame is said to have greeted crews who responded to the blaze at Borgie Forest, Strathnaver, shortly after 1pm this afternoon.
Commanders on the scene split the fire into three sections, directing the greatest resources at the fiercest blaze.
They worked for much of the afternoon and early evening before gaining control of the wildfire.
Crews remain on scene and are likely to be there for some hours to come.
Emergency services have also been working to extinguish a blaze on the Gruinard Estate in Achnasheen.
That call came in at 3.54pm and saw crews tackling a 300 metre wildfire.
It is still ongoing.
