A £230,000 investment from Transport Scotland will see the A887 improved significantly at Invermoriston, with resurfacing works scheduled to begin on Monday.
The project, which will be carried out by Bear Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland, is estimated to take eight days to complete, with work scheduled to take place from 7am to 7pm each day.
The A887 will remain open throughout the process, with a 10mph convoy system in place for the protection of both road workers and motorists. Outwith working hours the traffic management controls will be removed, however, a 30mph speed restriction will remain in place. Motorists are advised to take caution as they will be travelling on a temporary surface.
Eddie Ross, Bear Scotland’s North West representative, said: “These essential works will improve the road surface at this section of the A887, benefiting road users for years to come.
“Our teams will look to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible, however we would encourage motorists to plan their journeys ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date information.”
The works are part of a wider £4 million programme to address trunk roads in the north west of Scotland which require urgent resurfacing repairs due to the adverse weather conditions experienced over the winter months.
