Coastguards and the RNLI team were tasked to help a broken down boat in the Sound of Mallaig this evening.
The RIB was carrying two adults and a four year old child when it got into difficulty.
Stornoway Coastguard control tasked the Mallaig Lifeboat with the call at around 6.20pm.
After attaching a tow, the lifeboat led the stricken vessel back into Mallaig where they were met by a coastguard rescue team to check the passengers were safe and well.
The operation – which was praised as a “pretty fast turnaround” by the RNLI – concluded by 7.40pm.
