A 36-year-old man has been transferred to hospital in Aberdeen after suffering serious injuries in a motorcycle accident in the Highlands last night.
The accident happened on the B870 at Westerdale, near Halkirk, at around 9.50pm yesterday.
The man, who was riding a black Kawasaki motorcycle, was initially taken to Caithness General Hospital but was later transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Road policing sergeant Gus Murray said: “Our inquiries into this collision are ongoing and at an early stage.
“We would urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police or who saw a black motorcycle in the Westerdale area around that time to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
