A convoy system will be in place on a busy Highland route from Monday as Transport Scotland sets out to improve the A830 from Fort William to Malliag, at Loch Eil Station.
The works costing £185,000 are programmed to take two weeks to complete with staff on site between 7am and 7pm each day. Surfacing works are due to be completed by 7pm on Friday May 31 – no works are programmed for Saturday or Sunday.
A 10mph convoy system will be in place during the works and a 30mph temporary speed limit will remain in place for two weeks as vehicles will be travelling over a temporary surface. The A830 will remain open throughout the project.
Eddie Ross, for BEAR Scotland, said: “The £185,000 surfacing improvements will help address the defects on this section of the A830 and greatly improve the road surface for motorists.
“The traffic management in place is essential to ensure the safety of road workers and road users, however our teams will look to do all they can to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible.
