Four people have been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on the busy A830 Fort William to Mallaig route earlier this afternoon.
The incident occurred shortly before 12.45pm at Fassfern, with reports at the scene confirming five vehicles have been involved.
The road is currently closed as accident investigation work is carried out.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We received a call 12.46 hours on Monday 19 August to attend a five-vehicle road traffic collision on the A830 near Glenfinnan.
“Four ambulances, the trauma team and two air ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
“Three patients were taken by road to Belford Hospital and a further patient was transferred to Raigmore Hospital in our air ambulance.”
A fire service spokeswoman confirmed one person has had to be cut free from one of the vehicles.
An air ambulance departed the scene shortly after 3pm.

A police spokesman confirmed the road remains “completely blocked”.
Police, fire and ambulance personnel have all attended to the incident at Fassfern, around eight miles from the famed Glenfinnan Viaduct.
The fire service spokeswoman added: “Three of our crews were in attendance, with two pumps from Fort William joined by a single volunteer crew from Spean Bridge.
“Hydraulic cutting gear was in use on one of the vehicles involved to free a trapped person.
“A hose reel jet was also in use for cooling purposes.
“Our crews remained on scene to help the ambulance service and to make up gear, before the last crew departed the scene at 2.26pm.”
Crews from Mallaig and Inverness had initially been paged to the incident, however, were turned back as their assistance was not required.
The road is expected to remain closed for some time, with no appropriate alternative route in place.
Commuters aiming to catch the ferry service at both Mallaig and Corran Ferry are also being affected due to the closure.
