Three people taken to hospital following one-vehicle crash in Inverness

A man, woman and child have been taken to hospital following a one-vehicle collision in Inverness.

The vehicle was travelling along the B9006 Culloden Road shortly after 11.30am this morning when it came off the road near Inverness College UHI.

The female occupant of the vehicle was left trapped following the crash sparking a hasty response from emergency crews.

The casualties were taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital for further treatment where their condition is “not reported to be life threatening.”

Police, firefighters and paramedics were conveyed to the scene after receiving initial reports of the crash around 11.40am.

Four fire appliances from Inverness, Dingwall and Nairn were in attendance to help free the trapped passenger.

A fire service spokesman said: “We were called at 11.46am to reports of a one vehicle RTC on Culloden Road in Inverness.

“Hydraulic cutting equipment was in use to free one person who was trapped in the vehicle.”

Meanwhile, multiple medical teams were also tasked to the scene to tend to the injured parties.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 11.40 hours on Friday 27 September to attend a road traffic collision on Culloden road, Inverness. We sent two ambulances, a specialist paramedic and the trauma team to the scene and two patients were taken to Raigmore hospital.”

Officers closed the A9 slip road around 1.30pm to allow collision investigations to commence.

The road remains closed with officers stationed at the scene.
