Oban lifeboat has this afternoon been launched to assist in a search operation after a person has been reported in the water.
The RNLI crew were paged shortly before 4pm and are currently undertaking a sweep of Loch Creran.
It is understood a coastguard search and rescue helicopter is also in attendance, after being drafted in from Prestwick.
A police spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 4.20pm to reports of a person in the water on Loch Creran.
“Police Scotland officers are currently involved in a multi-agency response that remains ongoing.”
More as we get it.
