A stellar line-up of writers will share the tricks of their trade when the Ullapool Book Festival returns for its 16th year.
The literary extravaganza will take place from Friday, May 8, until Sunday, May 10, welcoming a host of home-grown and internationally acclaimed writers to the Highlands.
The three-day celebration will include a range of talks and workshops.
Man Booker International Prize winner Jokha Alharthi, who became the first Arabic writer to claim the award, and Estonian poet and translator Eda Ahi, whose latest work was awarded the Estonian Cultural Endowment’s award for poetry, will take part.
Author Chris Dolan, honorary president of the Ullapool Book Festival and writer for stage, screen and radio, will take to the stage to discuss his forthcoming book Everything Passes, Everything Remains.
Isle of Lewis author Donald S Murray will discuss his highly commended book about the Iolaire disaster, As the Women Lay Dreaming, alongside a showing of So Close to Home, a film produced by Lewis singer Alyth McCormack as part of an exhibition on the tragedy.
Joan Michael, chairwoman of the event, said: “I am absolutely thrilled with the line-up.
“We have always produced a great line-up and this one looks set to even top any of them, particularly so to have the Man Booker International winner and translator.”
