Three fire engines were sent to a property ablaze near Wick.
The alarm was raised just before 8pm this evening after a report of a fire in Thrumster, just off the A99.
A spokeswoman for the service said there are no reports of injuries or the people needing to evacuate the property.
Crews used two hose reel jets, four main jets and four breathing apparatus to tackle the flames.
The A99 at Thrumster was closed for three hours while fire fighters worked.
A local diversion was put in place via the A9 and A882.
The stop message came through at 10.38pm.
