A major search has been launched in Lochaber to help trace a fallen walker.
The male mountaineer is understood to have been walking at Glen Nevis before falling shortly after noon.
Met Office forecasters issued a yellow warning for strong winds throughout the day as Storm Dennis swept across the north.
Around 24 people from Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team battled the conditions to venture out to the area to assist officers at the scene following initial reports of the incident at 1pm.
A police spokesman said: “Around 1pm on Sunday, February 16, police received a report of a man having fallen during a climb on Glen Nevis.
“Officers attended alongside Lochaber Mountain Rescue team.”
A full scale search of the area – located at the foot of Ben Nevis – has been launched to help locate the fallen walker.
