Police have recovered a man’s body from the River Nevis during on-going searches for a missing 40-year-old climber.
Officers were called to the River Nevis in Glen Nevis around 3pm yesterday following reports of a body in the water.
Firefighters were called to the scene to assist officers in the recovery.
The man is still to be formally identified, however the family of Tomas Gafrik from Slovakia have been informed.
Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team posted on social media following their involvement in the search and rescue operation.
The post said: “Sadly we helped to recover Tomas Gafrik yesterday evening from the water slide area of upper Glen Nevis.
“At this time all our thoughts go out to his friends and family at this difficult time.”

Mr Gafrik, arrived in Scotland at Edinburgh Airport last Tuesday week.
He contacted family in his home country on Thursday, sending images which indicated he had spent the previous night near the Halfway Lochan on Ben Nevis and intended to continue to the 4411ft high summit that day.
