The owners of a chip shop in Oban are showing their appreciation for the emergency services by dishing up free fish suppers.
Father and son team Renato and Anthony Di Ciacca, who run Norries in the seaside town’s George Street, wanted to show their appreciation for frontline workers who are risking their own health to look after the public.
The team got busy frying up more than 50 of the tasty treats on Easter Sunday and delivered them to Oban Police Station, fire station and Lorn and the Islands Hospital.
Renato said: “We have been closed for three weeks now and we will probably stay closed for at least another week.
“We wanted to do something to help.
“I really feel for all of the people who are stuck out on the front line.
“I would like to thank Iain Stewart from Fort William for donating the fish and Cammy MacDonald from Breckenridge, Oban, for donating the potatoes.”
A spokesman for NHS Highland said: “We would like to thank Norries for their kind gesture and our staff thoroughly enjoyed their fish suppers.
“We have also been overwhelmed by the kind thoughts and the offers of help and assistance we have received from the public and businesses across Argyll and Bute and we thank them all.”
