A steam railway in the Cairngorms National Park has become the latest attraction to install potentially lifesaving equipment.
A new defibrillator is now available on board the Strathspey Railway’s steam and diesel engines which run between Aviemore and Broomhill.
More than 60,000 people visit the award-winning attraction every year.
The defibrillator has been provided by the British Heart Foundation after the Strathspey Railway raised £400 to part-fund the machine.
David Fraser, Strathspey Railway’s chief executive officer, said: “Being one of the main visitor attractions in the Scottish Highlands, and given a recent campaign to get defibrillators in all public buildings, we have recognised the importance of making sure this equipment is available on board our steam engines, allowing passengers to travel in our increasingly safe environment.
“We had 60,000 passengers travel along our heritage line in 2013, with even more set to visit in 2014. We want to make sure they enjoy their visit on board in the complete confidence that if they, or any of their family members or friends on board, experience any health problems, we’ll be able to help.”
