A Highland businesswoman is aiming to fulfil the last wishes of an 18-year-old who died of cancer.
Ben Saunders, from Somerset, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in his heart in October last year, which then spread to his lungs.
He underwent two major open heart surgeries and six rounds of intensive chemotherapy, but died on August 25.
However, before his death he set up the Ben Saunders Foundation with the aim of purchasing a holiday home to give families an escape.
In a matter of weeks, £50,000 has been raised.
Now Claire Daniels, owner of Delny Glamping near Invergordon, is doing her bit to support the cause because her daughter Elizabeth was good friends with Mr Saunders. .
She is raffling a luxury stay to raise money for the foundation.
Mrs Daniels, who moved north from Somerset three years ago, said: “Ben was a lovely boy, and he ran marathons for other charities and raised money for other people.
“He was such a strong, courageous boy and even in the end he was thinking about other people.
“I think a lot of people can look at this situation and think that death won because a young boy passed away, who was only 18, but actually out of this and his message and what he was trying to do, it brings life and hope to others in a very similar situation to what he was in.
“Even in death you can be victorious.”
