Police have renewed their appeal for help finding missing Oban woman Amunai Hobbs after a possible new sighting.

The 41-year-old may have been on Inchinnan Road in Paisley on Thursday morning, not long after she disappeared from the town’s Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Police have launched a major operation to try and trace Mrs Hobbs, who is also known as Amunai Nicholson.

Specialist search officers and the force helicopter have been deployed to try and trace her, so far without success.

Mrs Hobbs is originally from Thailand but has stayed in Oban for several years.

She left her home last Wednesday as she was due to travel to Thailand the following morning from Glasgow Airport.

She was seen at the airport in the early hours of Thursday morning but left to go to hospital after feeling unwell.

However, she left at around 10.35am before receiving treatment.

She may have been seen between 11.30am and 12.30pm in Inchinnan Road around two miles from the hospital.

Mrs Hobbs is described as slim, 4ft 10in with short black hair.

When last seen at the hospital she was wearing a beige fur coat, a purple dress with staining on the front, purple leggings and brown boots.

The witness from the later sighting said she was wearing a grey cardigan, black cropped leggings and possibly no shoes.

Paisley-based Inspector Gary Noonan said: “This is a very distressing time for her family and friends and they are extremely concerned for her wellbeing and safety. It is out of character for her not to keep in contact with them.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police in Paisley on 101.
