Highlands hit-and-run driver appeal

A heavy goods vehicle driver who did not stop after colliding with a car in the Highlands is being hunted by police.

It happened just before 3.30pm yesterday, on the A82 between Drumnadrochit and Invermoriston, two miles south of Glen Urquhart Castle.

A red Vauxhall Insignia which was involved in the crash was damaged and had be removed by a recovery vehicle.

There were no injuries and the road was partially blocked for around an hour.

Police have asked witnesses to get in touch on 101.

Later, at around 6.30pm, traffic on the A9, between Inverness and Perth, was affected by wood which had fallen from a vehicle.

It resulted in minor delays near Findhorn Bridge, with delays in both directions as police directed traffic around the hazard.

The debris was cleared within 20 minutes and Traffic Scotland said there were no reports of congestion in the area.
