North members of a national nature organisation have launched a wildlife photography competition to mark its 50th birthday.
The Scottish Wildlife Trust is celebrating the milestone anniversary this year.
The organisation’s North of Scotland members group is opening the competition to all amateur photographers, with a separate category for school pupils.
Entrants are asked to submit a set of three photographs that illustrate wildlife in Scotland on land, in the air and in water. The closing date for entries is August 31 2015.
Judging will be done by Sir John Lister-Kaye, nature writer and director of the Aigas Field Centre near Beauly, Charlie Phillips, Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2012, and Brian Alexander and Anna Jemmett of the North of Scotland group.
Beauly-based Ffordes photographic will sponsor the competition prizes.
Founded in 1964, the Scottish Wildlife Trust has 37,000 members, looks after 119 reserves, and is the only Scottish non-governmental organisation covering all wildlife.
