A spate of accidents kept police in north Argyll busy yesterday.

Emergency services including police and ambulance are currently at the scene of the most recent crash, which took place at 4pm.

Police received the call about a two-vehicle crash near the Wide Mouthed Frog restaurant at Dunbeg, near Oban on the A85 Oban to Perth road.

No further details are available at this time.

The first accident occurred at 7.25am when a lorry and a van collided at Blackmount, near Glencoe on the A82 Glasgow to Inverness road.

A man was taken to hospital in Oban by ambulance following the incident. Police said his injuries were not serious. The vehicles were wedged together after the impact.

A police spokesman said that the road was blocked in both directions until around midday. A recovery vehicle was on the scene about 9.30am, but the truck required to be unloaded before it could be moved, and this delayed the road opening.

Another lorry was involved in an accident on the single track B840 Portsonachan to Ford road just before midday. The man driving was the only occupant of the foreign vehicle which was carrying fish farm nets.

The lorry jack-knifed, blocking the single track road one mile past Ballemeanoch Farm.

It was understood the vehicle may not be recovered until tomorrow. The driver was unhurt.

At 11.56am a car left the road south of Creagan Roundabout on the A828 Connel to Ballachulish road. Police said the car hit the banking and left the road. The man driving, who was the only occupant, was unhurt.
