Five people were caught up in an avalanche on Ben Nevis today.
No one was seriously hurt in the incident, which took place just before 12.45pm when a cornice collapsed in No 4 Gully.
The five people were caught up in the resulting avalanche.
The collapse was understood to have been caused by two people abseiling. They were also unhurt.
A rescue helicopter from Prestwick was in the area on a training operation and took members of Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team to the scene.
The RAF helicopter from Lossiemouth was also scrambled but was not required.
A spokesman for Lochaber Mountain Rescue said: “Everyone managed to walk out with only one very minor injury.
“The new major avalanche protocol worked well with helicopters from Prestwick and Lossiemouth attending.
“The Emergency Medical Team from Paisley was mobilised along with Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team and the Ski Patrol from Aonoch Mor. Although not needed it was good test of system.”
