Stornoway Coastguarded has escorted a crewman to the Western Isles Hospital this evening.
A Scotia ship requested medical assistance from the coastguard at around 5.30pm and a helicopter was sent out shortly after.
The crewman arrived at the hospital at around 10.20pm.
