The A9 has been closed in both directions and one person is trapped in their vehicle following a crash on a busy northern road this afternoon.
Emergency services are currently on the scene of the crash on the A9 near Dunbeath.
One fire appliance is on the scene with another two en route while it is believed police and ambulance crews are also assisting.
The extent of injuries to those involved is not yet known.
