A woman had to be rescued from a car after it left an Argyll road and ended up partially submerged in a ditch.
Firefighters found the driver trapped in the vehicle which came to a stop in about 2ft of water next to the A83 a mile north of Lochgilphead in Argyll on Tuesday about 2pm.
A crew from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene where they worked to free the woman from the car.
Station manager Brian McGuire, the incident commander, said: “Our crew arrived to find the car within the road-side ditch, partially submerged in 2ft of water.
“The impact with the embankment had left the driver trapped inside and firefighters immediately stabilised the vehicle and formulated an extrication plan.
“An off-duty paramedic assisted our crew in attending to the casualty while an ambulance was en route.
“When it arrived the extrication plan was put into effect, and the casualty safely released and taken to Argyll and Bute Hospital.”
It is understood the woman’s injuries were not life-threatening.
