Drugs worth £900,000 have been seized on the Isle of Bute.
Police stopped a white van on Marine Road, Port Bannatyne on Monday and recovered 10kg of drugs, believed to be herbal cannabis.
And when they raided a number of flats on Castle Street, they found more than 2,000 plants – which are estimated to have a street value of £800,000.
Two men aged 40 and another 39-year-old man are expected to appear in Greenock Sheriff Court tomorrow in connection with the haul.
Detective Inspector Douglas Wilson said today: “Drug cultivations and recoveries are not limited big cities – any town can be affected.
“Information from the local community is something that is vital to the force when tackling drug related crime.”
