It’s looking very white in the north of Scotland this weekend after the first snow of the year fell in the Cairngorms.

Forecasters had predicted a wintry weekend in some parts of the country and snow fell overnight on Friday with the white stuff lying above 2,460ft.

Cairngorms National Park posted a picture as proof on their Facebook page – which has received thousands of shares and likes.

Reports have also come in of snow lying on the Lecht.

More snow is expected over Saturday night and Sunday.
