Skye residents are being asked to choose which projects in their area deserve a share in £15,000 worth of funding.
The island’s councillors have set aside the money which will be allocated at an event in May.
Groups wanting to claim their share of up to £1,500 are being asked to apply by Friday, April 29.
The community will vote on which ideas to fund on Saturday, May 28 in the Fingal Centre at Portree High School.
Councillor John Gordon who sits on the local implementation working group said: “This is handing decision making back to the community and it is the first stage in returning community empowerment to the most local level.
“I would encourage as many individuals or groups as possible across Skye and Raasay to take part in this initiative to get the funding they are looking for but also to hear about other groups ideas.”
Application forms can be accessed online from the Highland Council web site at
or by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org, 07795825573 or Skye & Lochalsh CVO, email@example.com, 01478612921 who will also be able to provide information and assistance with the application process.
