A motorcyclist was involved in a serious crash by Loch Ness today.
The driver came off the bike on the A82 Inverness to Fort William road at Alltsigh.
The RNLI lifeboat at Loch Ness was launched after the casualty was thrown from the vehicle to the loch-side.
Police, ambulance and fire service crews attended the scene, having received the call at about 1.30pm.
The road was closed for about two hours.
A fire service spokeswoman said: “There was a one vehicle road accident involving a motorbike.
“Our crews from Fort Augustus and Cannich assisted ambulance personnel to transport the casualty up a steep embankment.”
