A Black Isle dentist is to face a watchdog hearing accused of a number of failings when treating a child patient.
David Naisby, registered at Dunbreck, Culbokie, faces a string of charges relating to the same patient over a period between January 11, 2010 and April 16, 2014.
He will face a General Dental Council practice committee next month.
He has been accused of failing to carry out treatment planning, dental charting and an assessment of the caries risk level.
He is also alleged to have failed to obtain any medical history for the child and is accused of not providing a treatment plan, dietary advice or hygiene advice.
Mr Naisby also provided ozone treatment to the patient and is accused of failing to obtain informed consent from the patient’s parents by not explaining alternatives, its purpose and the risks or benefits.
He is also accused of failing to assess the cause of deterioration in the patient’s teeth, failing to take radiographs and failing to maintain adequate records of his care and treatment.
The GDC panel will consider whether Mr Naisby’s fitness to practise is impaired when he appears before them on August 15 at a hearing in London.
