The group behind ambitious plans for the largest community buyout in Scotland is holding more public meetings this week to explain their proposals.
East Lochaber and Laggan Community Trust was set up in response to the announcement by Rio Tinto earlier this year that it was reviewing its assets in the community, including the historic Lochaber Smelter.
The plant in Fort William currently employs about 150 people directly and 400 workers in the supply chain.
The trust is hoping to buy the 125,000-acre Rio Tinto estate and work with partners to operate the smelter and main hydro power stations.
A number of public meetings have already been held and more than 500 local people have signed up to become members.
Further meetings are to be held at the Duncansburgh MacIntosh Parish Church Hall in Fort William tonight , Kinlochleven High School Theatre tomorrow , Caol Community Centre on Wednesday and Kilmallie Community Centre in Corpach on Thursday. All will start at 7pm.
