Highland drama students at Eden Court have achieved impressive grades, with more than half receiving A grades.
Students sitting SQA drama and dance courses as well as their London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts exams at the Inverness theatre achieved a 100% pass rate.
And of the 41 students to take the test 23 achieved A grades.
Students came from as far away as Skye and Moray each weekend and during their holidays to take part in the courses.
Louise Marshall, Eden Court’s SQA co-ordinator said: “We are delighted that our students have done so well.
“Their hard work and talent, and that of our tutors has been recognised and rewarded. Eden Court is the only theatre in Scotland to offer this opportunity and it’s great to see it deliver such good results”.
Supported by Highland Council, Eden Court Creative provides tuition in National 5 Drama, Higher Drama and Higher Dance courses for students whose schools often can’t provide these qualifications.
Eden Court lamda tutor Nicola Gray said:
‘I am so proud of the Lamda MT students, they worked so hard to achieve their great results.
“They presented a talented showcase of their exam work and new repertoire material in the One Touch Theatre at the end of the year and were also asked to perform at the official opening of the UHI college where they performed a flashmob style medley of songs.”
