A Black Isle chip shop has been badly damaged in a devastating fire this afternoon.
Crews were called to the incident at Avoch Chippy on the village’s High Street shortly before 12.30pm.
Two crews from Inverness and a third from Fortrose attended at the scene.
A spokeswoman said the fire was within the “kitchen area of a takeaway”.
Firefighters used hosereel jets, a dry foam extinguisher, breathing equipment and thermal imaging cameras to tackle the fire.
However, a fryer was destroyed and the rest of the property extensively smoke damaged.
The fire was extinguished by 1.56pm and the last fire crew left the scene shortly before 3pm.
The road through the village was closed while firefighters tackled the blaze.
It has since reopened.
