Snow returned to the Highlands this morning as motorists driving along the A9 battled the wintry conditions.
Forecasters had said we could expect snow on higher levels and an ice warning was in place across the north and north-east from last night.
Those travelling along the main road in the north found themselves in the midst of the snowy conditions as they headed north this morning.
