A woman sent naked pictures of a man to his new girlfriend after he rejected her, a court heard.

Health worker Michelle Macdonald pestered the man for five months before he finally contacted the police.

The 38-year-old repeatedly went to his home, phoned him, sent him text messages and then sent indecent images of him to his partner.

Fiscal depute Fiona Murray said police were contacted when Macdonald, of the city’s Evan Barron Road, sent him a threatening message saying: “You are dead meat.”

Macdonald previously admitted a charge of stalking the man, who cannot be named, and returned to Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday for sentencing.

Sheriff Charlotte Coutts ordered to be of good behaviour for six months.

Ms Murray said the victim’s girlfriend had sent Macdonald a text to ask her to stop “pestering” the victim, with whom she was in a relationship.

“Macdonald responded by sending several pictures – two of which were of [the victim] in a state of undress.

“He asked her to stop sending naked pictures of him and to stop harassing him. She replied with a text message saying ‘you are dead meat’.

“He took this as a threat and went to the police. He felt in fear for his own safety as he was afraid of what she might do while intoxicated.

“He was also highly embarrassed. Police made efforts to trace her and she contacted them herself. In an interview she admitted sending the texts and photos from a mobile phone number which she subsequently had changed,” Ms Murray went on.

Defending, Patrick O’Dea said: “She regrets her conduct given what has happened.

“It is unlikely she will re-offend and she has no wish to contact him again.”

He added that she had reacted to an “insulting” reply from him to a text message.

Sheriff Coutts warned Macdonald that if she did not co-operate with social workers or got into trouble again, adding: “All options will be open to the court.”
