A Highland road was closed earlier today following the discovery of a suspected unexploded device.
As a precaution, the B9006 between Ardersier and Fort George was forced to close to allow emergency services, including a Royal Navy bomb disposal team, attend to the item.
However, around 4pm police officers changed the parameters of the cordon allowing the road to reopen to the public.
The device, that is believed to be historic, was located on near the Moray Firth shoreline.
Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal has been informed and are anticipated to attend this evening.
