A drunken meeting between friends ended in violence when a group of teenagers met in an Inverness park.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard yesterday that on June 29 this year, 19-year-old Nicole Williamson was with her boyfriend and other friends and family members near Kessock Court.
Fiscal depute Rowena Carlton said: “An argument developed and it escalated into a fight with Williamson flinging her arms about.”
She said a boy and girl were struck as a result before first offender Williamson of Carnarc Crescent seized hold of a younger girl’s hair and punched her head.
Defence solicitor Rory Gowans said that alcohol had been consumed by everyone.
“It went from hugging and best friends to a melee. But there is no on-going ill feeling. She has learnt a valuable lesson and I don’t think we will see her in court again.”
Sheriff Margaret Neilson deferred sentence for good behaviour until January 22 next year and said that Williamson would be dealt with leniently if she did not get into any further trouble.
