An Inverness city-centre pub was evacuated yesterday afternoon after a cooker caught fire.
Firefighters were called to The Auctioneers in Church Street after receiving a call about the blaze in the pub’s kitchen just after 4pm.
The fire was extinguished by 4.20pm.
Two crews from Inverness were called to tackle the incident.
A fire service spokeswoman said the kitchen suffered smoke damage.
Church Street and Union Street in Inverness were both briefly closed to traffic while firefighters tackled the fire.
A spokeswoman for the police said nobody was injured and an investigation would be carried out to determine the cause of the fire.
