A teenage girl who threatened to stab a police officer has been detained for 170 days.
Roseanne Gilbert, 18, of Planefield House, Montague Row, Inverness, admitted the breach of the peace in Church Street on March 16.
Yesterday at Inverness Sheriff Court, Ms Gilbert also pleaded guilty to a breach of her bail curfew on August 4 and punching and slapping a woman in Falcon Square on September 4.
Defence agent Rory Gowans said his client had had “a difficult upbringing.”
He added: “The offences stem from her background and alcohol, which brings the worst out in her. She can’t seem to stay out of trouble and has a lot of growing up to do. She is currently on a support programme.”
Sending her to detention, Sheriff Gordon Fleetwod said: “I am aware of your background but you have to be responsible for your own actions. The programme will still be there for you when you get out should you choose to resume it.”
